Thinking of Getting a Cat - Need Advice
Wanted to see if anyone had any experience in dealing with a pure breed cat. I know there a lot of cat's in need of adoption, but I really wanted to get a specific breed. Are pure breeds better?

In my eyes they are equal, but with a pure breed you know what you can expect (sort of) and when you adopt a cat from a shelter it usually adapts to your needs when you adapt to his.
petfinder.com you can find pure bread rescues, but there nothing like a mix bread in my mind wear you get all sorts of temperaments in once feline
I think you should go for pure breed.

I've got a pure breed Ragdoll myself. They are a gorgeous looking cats but also has a good behaviour type. This breed is very relaxed & calm, and usually playful at times. Mine sleeps most of the day so its not much stress for us. Its good with kids and new visitors. I suggest getting a pure breed, although it doesn't make much of a difference. If you decide to get a mixed, it all really depends on what type of cat it is.
