Yes, they are very misunderstood!! I am hoping this is easing some through education about them. My daughter has a pit mix and a full blooded pit and the full-blood is the most loving dog I have ever seen! She has three small children and a small pomeranian and a Yorkie which play with the pits alot. My son-in-law rescued Gizmo after he was an adult dog and there has been no trouble!

Yes, I really agree with you. That really misunderstanding.
Yes, I believe this is a much maligned, much misunderstood breed. People blame "pit bulls" when there are times that a pit bull isn't even involved. In the 80's and 90;s it was the Doberman Pinscher, the German Shepherd and the Rottweilers who were all to blame for any aggressiveness or dog attacks. Nowadays it's the pit bull to blame. What people don't seem to understand is that the dog is not to blame, it's the human behind the dog who does not train their pup/dog, allows them to run free or who generally just don't drain the dog's energy by taking it for twice daily walks. Keeping a dog is a big responsibility to the dog, the family and the community. So, yes, I do believe this is a very misunderstood breed worldwide. I don't agree with BSL anywhere. There is no reason to ban a breed ... what they should be doing is stopping anyone who has trained a dog to be aggressive or to fight, and take their animals away, all of them, put that person in jail, fine them and never allow them to own any animals ever again. Living this way is not fair to these dogs. Pit bulls used to be called the Nanny Breed, as in the 50's they were used to watch out for the kids in a family. They are the ultimate family dog. Please, everyone, lets start treating them this way.
I used to work in a kennel and am now a dog groomer and the only aggressive dogs I have seen are usually owned by young male thuggs who think they are tuff cos they have a bully of a dog. Other times their owners babied them and spoilt them rotten so the dog is the ruler of the roost. These dogs came in all shapes and sizes. Dashounds, poodles, labs and yes, only once,,,,, a pitbull.
I believe the behavior of ANY dog even the bully breeds is the result of how their owners raise them. The irresponsible owners are the ones giving the breed a bad name.
Yes! I agree, they are mis-understood! People make them look bad-ass! I heard MANY stories about pit bulls in dogfights, or attacking innocent dogs. They don't know any better? Its either they are always being neglected by humans making us humans a threat which can cause them to attack a human. Or they have been in recent dog fights, they wouldn't know any better with an owner who would ALLOW their dog to be dominated or dominate, and if the dog loses in a fight, man the owner would be furious because he just lost $50 or whatever!! And then they chain them up? Yes, bad people DO train them, train them to be a predator, someone that dog really isn't!
Great, Thats awesome! Not to mention how loving they are, yet people go along and crop the ears making them look just as worse! - paws up!
