My dog keeps eating his or cats feces
My dog has been eating his poop(feces) on a regular basis lately. He also rubs his self in the grass also. Why is he doing this, especially eating the feces? He is 15 years old, male Dachshund. He is eating his own food but he has been very picky about what he eats lately. Please someone help with this???

It sounds like your boy is getting is old. Here is some information I was able to find that might help.
In some cases, the problem may have a medical basis, such as a pancreatic insufficiency or a malabsorption syndrome, two conditions which affect the proper digestion of food.
Some dogs may eat stool in an attempt to recover or retrieve an unabsorbed nutrient in the feces. For example, dogs fed diets high in starch and carbohydrate and low in fat and fiber are more likely to eat stool, as are dogs whose diets are primarily dry food or of poor quality.
Its a very disgusting habit to witness. Younger dogs seem to do this out of bordom or because it smells like there might be something worth eating. Although humans look at it as waste, dogs see it as an opportunity.
Is this a new habit that you have been noticing?

He has done it before in the past but lately it seems like everytime he goes outside he is wanting to eat something that is on the ground.
