barking : is airedale terrier a big barker?
I am thinking of buying an Airedale Terrier. My spouse is very intolerant, in the barking behavior.
So my question is for those owners of airedale terrier :Does this breed have excessive barking ?
Thanks in advance !

Because it is in fact a terrier, the Airedale can have a tendency to possess a barking trait. However, many dogs bark for a lot of different reasons; communicate, fear, aggression. Since a lot of it depends on how the dog is raised/trained, it would be a good idea to learn more about what it takes to prevent barking. The Airedale is a very intelligent breed, so training it would be easy. However, because they are so smart it also requires a lot of stimulation. Not knowing much other than you are looking for a dog that does not bark, I would say this breed can be taught, but its going to require time and effort on your end. Hope this helps.
When my airdale terrier was alive he only really barked during storms or when someone came down the driveway. Any other time he didn't really bark. Airdales are also great with kids.

When my friend softball98 had a airadale terrier he was really nice she said. She said that it usually never barked unless someone is coming or when it is stormy outside. Airadale terriers usually are really great dogs if you find the right one. They could be your best friend someday.
