My Cat died suddenly.
Hi, we got two cats when they were a few weeks old and they have always been very healthy. They are about two years old. Yesterday my family and I went out for dinner for my sisters 13th birthday. Before we left I stroked the cat. He had been lying down in the same place for maybe 2-4 hours but alive and responsive, he did this a lot when he had trapped an animal(He's an outdoor cat) so I thought nothing of it. We came back 4 hours later and as I went downstairs I saw my cat lying on its side in the corner of the room. I first said hi and he didn't respond, then as went over too him I saw that there was poo and vomit around him. I then looked closer and I saw his eyes were open and his tongue was out the side of his map. My family is very upset. We were wondering what could have happened to him and what we should do about our other cat(his brother) as he seems depressed, we now only see him at breakfast and dinner when we feed him, also whenever we try to pet him he kind of dodges it. After the other cats death he came in 2 hours after we removed the body he smelled and meowed where he last was, he then tried looking for him, it was heartbreaking :(. Does anyone have any suggestions for us, should we get another cat to keep him company, thanks.
white/runny kitty poop
I have a 6 week old kitty that has white/runny poop - what is that?
We found our marma-pants dead
I will keep this shortWe had an awful smell in our house and thought it was a dead mouse as we have many traps all over hidden, none of my cats can get to though. We have an outdoor cat that we had spayed so we don't have more kittens. She didn't want out Fri night which was strange but OK as we thought she just was tired. She has been very quite for a few days but still herself. We think sat morning was when she was inside non the less Sunday afternoon we decided to search for her as we haven't heard from her and she's usually wanting out. She kept all the mice/rats at bay. She was an amazing cat. When we couldn't find her I suddenly said... no no look harder. The smell was getting worse. So back down to basement with flashlights and there she was laying there. FoamING from the mouth. Blood out of her nose. And laying in poop and fluid. The first thing I thought of was she's been poisened. I say this cause we live between farms. We have a sheep farm which she visits regular and across the hywy where we think she came from. We haven't seen the usual strays that stop by for a quick fight. Just very still and weird here. Does this sound like she may of eaten poisen that a rat ingested? Please help cause the guilt of not knowing if I could of saved her is killing me. I wish she would of shown us some clues. We could of taken her to our vets. I feel so scared. I have 3 indoor cats too. And a parot. What do I do? Anyone please...
Cat suddenly dieing
Today our cat suddenly died he had all his shots healthy only 10 months old a little chunky he was mostly a indoor cat we left the house for a couple hours when my mother called she had stopped by to visit when she was waiting for us to return she seen him laying beside our chairs she started talking to him he always would meow like he was having a conversation with you he didn't respond she started petting him and realized he was extremely stiff and had foam in and around him mouth there was no pee or poop around we are so heartbroken and have no clue what happened please if anyone may have a clue to what happened please share with me
Let's recap, a kitten was found on the street 3 days ago, looks a month and a half old. Everyone runs to the vet when a cat suffers something, however, is there any home remedies to treat phlegm vomit? Everything else is fine.
1 day death
I came home, my cat seemed tired so was I so I went to bed and the next day I woke up and checked on my cat Jazzy, I first thought he was dead, alone and frantic I think he was in a coma, talked to someone and he was not cold but motionless. I did not know what to do, called vet when I though he passed and they told me their was only a short time for reviving them. I was in tears not knowing what to do. What could have caused him to go into a coma in one day's time without symptoms and then pass?
Cat unknown death
Hi my name is caren and my cat name was sauke. He was given to me by my boss, they received him from an older women who was unable to care for him. When i brought him home him months ago, he quickly adapted. He was so loving and very gentle. He loved cuddling and kissing. He also enjoyed sleeping in the bed, either next to my head with his head and paw on me, or under the covers next to me, no matter what he love curling up on you. He was very clingy not mean at all. I was told he was an indoor cat, he enjoyed the window and laying in the door way outside. He never left the yard or went away for long. He would only go outside if i was there and came right back. On friday i went to work and he didn't want to come in, i didn't think anything of it my fiance would be home soon to let him in. When i got home i notice he wasn't around did feel alarmed. I started noticing it was getting later and no sign of him. I went to call him and nothing i decided to go to sleep i would here him if he came to the door. The next morning i still no sign and figured he was lost and i proceeded to look around. I found him laying on the grass from a distance ( few house down) across the street. I wasn't hundred percent positive so i called my fiance and confirmed it was sauke. We gave him a proper burial and he know at a gulf course over looking the the gulf course. When my fiance works. My fiance told me he did not have any broken bones nor blood or foaming. Its strange to me how he was laying there and i still hope that it wasn't sauke. The only other thing we noticed is he was getting too skinny and sauke eat way too much. I would feed him three cans of food big ones and dry food. I was told that was too much but he never threw up. I was told to cut him back. He only ate salmon, tuna he was a bit spoiled, i give him salmon sticks for treat would break it up for him. Please help!!
