Is Bo Obama Really a Rescue?
So I came across MSNBC's article on Bo Obama, and I can't make up my mind on what I think. On the one hand, the whole story seems more than a little fishy. On the other, I think President Obama is an honest man and I almost always think the conspiracy theorists area a few cards short of a full deck. What does everyone else think?(For those who aren't familiar with the story, you can read it here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30194173/)

Is this a mental problem?
So, 6 months ago I got my 9 year old retired guide dog harpo. Right before I got him guide dog school gave him a checkup and said he was fine...I don't think he is. First off, food, food, food FOOD. I know labs love food but I am telling you he can not look at you around food. If you try to train him you can't use food. He loves people, he is obedient, but not around food, not like a normal labs food obsession, like an addiction. Second, we will be doing something and he just falls down. he lays there for about 20 minutes then will get back up. I don't think it is physical because if I pull food out or mention a treat he gets up and wags his tail.He is also freaks out when I am not there unless he is in his crate. Any help?
Sore Paws From Camping
I went camping for the 4th of July and I noticed William was limping around after the first day of hiking. I looked at his paws and noticed the were tender and looked swollen. I really like to go camping, and William seems to enjoy it as well. Is there anything I can do next time to help keep his feet protected?
rotweiller skin problem
I have a 2yr old rot. Her name is sadie. I have noticed a red rash on her belly, and also scabs on her ears, nose and even around her eyes. They are crusty and sometimes they ooze. She doesnt itch with this but all she wants to do is sleep. I have cleaned the area with warm water and I apply neosporin around the nose and other area's. I have taken her to the vet and they are doing blood work on her. Has anyone had any similiar problems I am really worried. I had lost a rot 2yrs ago after having him for 10yrs to cancer, and I had a poodle of 22yrs that passed 2months after the rot had died. I cant loose another pet. So if anyone has had any problem please help me out. Thanks
Foxtail Danger to Dogs
I went away for the weekend and left my boy with a new dog sitter. The one thing she mentioned was to check his feet for foxtail seeds. I noticed that he was limping and that he had reddish sore feet (the pads are totally fine, but in between his toes is where it looked sore). I am wondering if this could have been caused by running around a lot, or if he is having a problem because of the foxtails. Does anyone here have any advice, or can share a story about their dog and foxtails?
Do I have a good dog sitter?
I hired a new dog sitter and went away on vacation. When I got back, my dog seemed happy and tiered, which is usually a good sign. However, I was laughing becasue there is really no way to tell if my dog walker did a good job or not. Maybe she just kept him locked up, and on the last day ran him well so he would be tired when I got home. Is there really anyway to tell if you have a good or bad dog walker?
Skin discoloration normal?
Hi all,I recently notice that my puppy (a terrier mix) has some skin discoloration around her mouth. Her lips are normally black, but she has developed some pinks spots. There is no texture to the spots, only a color change. Any thoughts on what this could be or if I should be worried? Thanks!
Etiquette when meeting a dog
I was walking down the street the other day when this man came up and just started playing/petting my boy William. Now don’t get me wrong, I love dogs, but I am shocked how people don’t respect the rule of asking for permission before interacting with someone else’s dog. My fear, and not so much for William because of his sweet disposition, is what if the person reached down without asking and the dog bit him or her. Would that be the dog’s fault or the person who did not ask permission? Furthermore, could the dog/owner be legally responsible?
Fun exercise othetr than running
I am so bored running with my dog, and he also seems to get bored as well. We have tried swimming too, but not always a true work out for him. He is a big saint Bernard, Can anyone help recommend a fun activity I could do other than running or swimming?
