The Norwich Terrier, one of the smallest of the working terriers, is a breed of dog in the Terrier Group. This brave and devoted terrier dog breed is also a hard working hunting dog, and yet they have a very playful but stable personality which makes them delightful family companions as well. The Norwich Terrier was approved by the AKC in 1981.
Norwich Terriers are small but hardy dogs are courageous, remarkably intelligent, and wonderfully affectionate. They can be assertive but rarely aggressive, quarrelsome, or shy. Norwich Terriers are energetic, and thrive on an active life. They are eager to please, but the Norwich definitely has a mind of its own. They are sensitive to scolding but are 100 percent Terrier.
The life expectancy of the Norwich Terrier is 12 to 15 years. While the Norwich Terrier is considered a healthy dog breed, there are some health issues that responsible breeders will do preventative testing for.
