Miniature Bull Terrier - Overview and History

The Miniature Bull Terrier, also known as the Mini Bull Terrier and the English Miniature Bull Terrier, is a breed of dog in the Terrier Group. Known for their distinctive features and energetic, playful, personalities, the Miniature Bull Terrier thrives in a home where their high energy and attention needs are met. The Miniature Bull Terrier breed was approved by the AKC in 1991.

Miniature Bull Terrier - Physical Characteristics

Miniature Bull Terriers have a very strong build with muscular shoulders and a full body. They have a head described as egg-shaped with a flat top and a Roman muzzle. The Bull Terriers eyes are triangular and closely set, while their ears are carried erect and are not cropped or otherwise altered.

Miniature Bull Terrier - Temperament

Miniature Bull Terriers are known to be stubborn and courageous. They don't seem to realize their size and, even if confronting an enormous dog, they will not back down. Miniature's are very energetic and playful. They love people, but often don't get along with other pets. They are variable around other dogs, and young children must be warned to treat them carefully.

Miniature Bull Terriers are generally a healthy dog breed and can typically be expected to live 10 to 12 years. However, there are some health predispositions that potential owners should be aware of. The most common issues affect the dog's hearing, eyes, skin, and knees.
