History

The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon was developed in the late 1800’s by a man named Eduard K. Korthals. He was looking for a supreme hunting dog that could navigate any type of terrain, including swampy marshes, while retaining strong retrieving and pointing characteristics. After years of work, particularly in France, the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon breed standards were created.
