Bloodhound

The Bloodhound, also known as the Chien de Saint-Hubert and the St. Hubert Hound, is a breed of dog in the Hound Group. Contrary to popular belief, the name of the breed does not refer to its tracking instincts but to the fact that its breed, or bloodline, has been kept completely pure. Bloodhounds have a median longevity of seven years, which makes them one of the shortest-lived dog breeds. The leading cause of death was GDV, which killed 34 percent of the dogs.
