How do you know if your dog has bacterial meningitis or steroid responsive meningitis?

My cat died of feline cardiomyopathy two days ago. She was lying outside in the tall grass in the shade. I thought she was sleeping. I thought I saw her chest move. She liked to sleep outside.

When I can back a couple of hours later she was still in the same position. I thought that was unusual. So I went to touch her. She was dead and rigor mortis had already set in.

I did not know this could happen. She did not show any signs of illness. Just a little lethargic from the summer heat. Gone. So sudden. I am getting over it.

My 9year old boxer , hailey, had a stroke. According to our vet the is really nothing we can do, but I feel so helpless. I would like to know if there is any hope for my baby girl? Are there any supplements or anything I can do to help her? Any words of encouragement or helpful hints would be greatly appreciated.

what are your opinions on dental costs etc? Anyone have experience with groomers dental cleaning without sedation ? The costs astronomical and I need a suggestion for my chihuahua 's dental care as our local vets require full blood work up etc. and we don't even do that for our dentals

My terrier mix will be 16 in November.  She has been having issues off and on with her hips.  On bad days I have to help her up from a sitting position.  We have started some new anti inflammatory and pain meds that seem to be helping some what.  But the newest thing we have noticed is that she eats and drinks more!!  I mean she eats like she hasn't eaten in days!!  Also she seems confused and roams around the house and sometimes just walks in circles around the coffee table.   She is also having more and more accidents inside as well.  She will go outside for 5-10 min and then as soon as she comes inside she will go #2!!  I know she is old and I don't want her to suffer but I am having a difficult time making that decision myself!  I feel like there is something else we can try but the vet doesn't seem to think so!  She has been a part of our family since she was 8 weeks old and just because she is old and more difficult to take care of I don't want to just give up!!!  Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.  Thank you

Our Boxer will be 8 years old this month and was dx. last week with prostate cancer.  The specialist informed us that it had not spread, and was caught very early, however, she indicated that it could not be surgically removed due to the location.  The tx. options she gave were to have him on antibiotics for the infection caused by the tumor, and the use of Metacam, a non steriod anti inflamatory drug to help with pain, inflamation, and  can often shrink the tumor.  The other option was IV chemo. ev. 3 wks. for 5 treatments.  The worse part of the news is that she said on ave. he would live about 3 to 4 months. without chemo., and maybe 4-6 months with chemo.  Not only is chemo very expensive, and requires him to go thru the treatments, but it doesn't buy us much time. She did say that dogs usually don't have the same bad side effects with chemo. that humans have, but didn't push it either. We love our Rocky so much, and we are all devistated and don't want to lose him.  Does anyone know of a similar case and if the 3-6 month survival sounds accurate, or if they know of a dog having success with surgery.  Since he's been on the extended antibiotic and Metacam, he is acting like his self.  Eating fine, urinating well, playing etc.  Any advise would be welcomed.

Hello everyone,

I have been in the market researching about healthy chews for large and x-large dogs but haven't really found a good product. So, I decided to come up with a product that is healthy and strong enough for large dogs to enjoy. What are you doing to keep your dogs busy, content and occupied so that they're not chewing on furnitures, sofas, shoes and other items around the house?

I look forward to hearing back.

Regards,
Neil
