Has anyone else had a dog that got lighter as they aged? I'm not sure if it's just broken-coated breeds, or what, but my old schnauzer almost completely changed color and annie seems to get greyer every time I clip her. Someone from my airedale group suggested stripping her coat partially before clipping would help. Anyone have any clue about this?

My dog got a little grey/white around her nose and snout but that's about it.

I don't have any suggestions, but I have noticed this too. Up until a couple of years ago, Mollie's coat was a vivid rust color. In her senior years it has become more "muddied" or darker. Her little grey chin hairs are popping up like wildflowers, too.
