I just bought this new hair grooming thing called the furminator.  I would never have bought it, but the people at the vet's office showed me how well it worked.  I would never of bought it unless I saw how much hair it removed.

I did some research, and apparently its just a tool used to strip the dog's under coat.  Anyway, my question is if stripping your dogs undercoat is a bad thing?

Hello....
I hv  an English Setter  she sheds somethin' fierce.  Petsmart recommended the 'furminator spoo to me as well.   It is fantastic;  it's a bit of a pain in the tub; you really need to leave it on 4   at least 5 mins. it says, AND use the conditioner.   I no longer hv ANYYYYYY
long fur all over the place, etc.   When she 's fully dry, I brush her thoroughly & u cant believe all the fur that comes out.  GOod luck

It may be exactly what your dog needs, actually, depending on the type of dog and the type of under coat.  A golden retriever would love that.  A boston terrier would cringe in terror.  If your dog really needs some relief from the under coat (or your floors need relief from his undercoat), then try it out, gently, and see how it goes.  I hope that helps.
