Dog Shedding Problem

I think both of those would help.  I would also ask a groomer about shaving the dog's hair.  Not sure if thats something you can do with a lab, but it might be worth asking.  Good luck!

All dogs are going to shed but you may want to look into a food allergy if the dog is losing that much hair; labs are know for having food allergies.  If your dog is allergic there is Rx diet food that helps a lot!  My dog was losing all her hair, tried everything I could think of.  Took her to the vet and it was diagnosed. It's just a thought ... might be worth a shot to check out.  =)

You could get the Lab shaved down and it would help alot with the shedding, or ask your groomer about a shedless treatment. You could also try bathing the dog in a FURminator shampoo and conditioner solution. Just be sure to rinse very well otherwise the dog could develop bald spots. If you use the Furminator tool, be very careful with it and don't brush the dog more then once a week. Also, make sure you don't go over the same place more then 3 or 4 times. Another great tool to use is a Zoom Groom, it's rubber so you can brush as much as you want, as often as you want and it won't brush burn the dog. Many like it but some do think of it as a chew toy.

try to use supplements for skin and coat... need to brush the hair atleast every other day to stimulate and massage the skins blood flow.. normally all our dogs sheds hair atleast twice a year but if you observe that its all year round try to consult your vet...
