Just got a new puppy and he wont sleep through the night.  He is always barking and crying.  Should I take him out of the cage and let him sleep on my bed?  It seems like it might be a good idea, at least so i can get a good night of sleep.

I would not take him out of his cage.  When crate training a dog, its important to let your puppy get used to sleeping in there.  If you take him out, the puppy will start to learn that yelping or barking gets him out of the cage.  Unfortunately the best solution, for crate training is to keep them in the cage.  After a few nights, he will get used to the new surroundings and stop yelping.  Its not much fun, but it will wok.

Good Luck!

One thing that might help would be to put an apron over the crate, like with birds.  And old sheet will do just fine.  Be sure to leave proper ventilation but closing off a lot of the stimulation may be one of those tricks that really help.
