I always like to ask people what their favorite breed of dog is.  There are some many different types, and whenever I ask this question I always learn about new and interesting breeds that I had never heard of before.  Anyway, I would love to hear what everyone here thinks is their favorite breed of dog.

P.S. Mine is a Beagle

I have Boston terriers. They are great little dogs. Golden retrievers are the best big dogs. Gentle giants.

My favorite breed of dog in the whole wide world is boxers.  I have been a boxer owner since early 1980's.  My first boxer was a brindle female.  I then adopted a fawn female to be her companion.  After they died, I went several years without any dogs at all.  All my 3 sons became boxer lovers and my oldest son got a female fawn that he bred and I have one of her pups.  Both the mother and her pup (my dog) are getting older now and my oldest son recently got a brindle male.  He is going to breed him once his female is gone.  My youngest son has a brindle male.  It is my goal to have a pair of female boxers--one fawn, one brindle.  I know I shall have them again someday as I will be a boxer lover/owner all my life!

Chihauhau has always been irresistible to me.  I love a snuggler and they are easy maintenance.  But, since I got my Cairn Terrier / Poodle Mix breed male 13 years ago, its hard to imagine loving anything more.  He is so loyal and protective, and even in his old age is active and runs fast as lightning and he is still as playful as he was when he was a puppy.  His nightly ritual is to squeak his favorite plush toy for about a minute before bedtime.  He anticipates my every move and never leaves my side.  When I bring groceries home from the store, he wants to check all the bags to see what he got.  I know I sound crazy, but he can tell a can of dog food from a can of beans by the doggie pictures on the label.  He is a very smart boy and I hope he lives forever.
