As a rule of thumb the answer is 'no.'  You should never feed people food to any dog.  But let's be honest, I don't think there is a dog owner out there who has never shared some food with their dog.

I would use common sense.  Only feed small dogs very small portions and stick to healthy foods.  Sugars should be avoided and don't give them anything they could choke on.

Little dogs are my favorites, but the begging will get worse over time if you give in every time.  I only give beef and chicken without spices and whole grain bread and corn and yams to my dogs now.  Also, canned unspiced pumpkin is real good for dogs.  I used to give mine anything I had until I found out many people foods are harmful, even fatal.  You should not give them anything with spices or white flour.  Chocolate and raisins can kill you dog.  Garlic and onions are also harmful.  I only sharr my dinner after I have eaten all I want, that way my dogs learned not to be obnoxious beggars and they wait patiently to see what is left over.
