I am planning on breeding my male chihuahua puppy with a female. But this is my first time doing this so I don't know how to get them to breed! So any suggestions?

are you sure the female chihuahua is in heat? she needs to be in order to breed. here is an article on dogs in heat.http://www.petwave.com/Dogs/Dog-Basic-Care-and-Nutrition-Center/Basic-Care/Spaying-and-Neutering/Need-to-Know/Helpful-Tips/Will-my-dog-have-heat-cycles-for-all-of-her-life.aspx

Make sure the female is in heat and the dog you want to be mom to the babies first. Then put your male dog in the back yard with the female of choice and watch and wait. They will couple and stay that way for awhile. Don't try and separate them. Eventually when the act is complete they will separate. After that you should be looking for babies.
I'm not sure what the gestation period is for small dogs but you can look that up. Then get out the cigars and celebrate. Good luck!
