Is anyone elses dog afraid of thunder?  My boy just recently started to get more and more afraid of storms.  He sits there and pants and it looks uncomfortable.  Any tips on how I can help him get more comfortable when there is a storm?

My vet prescribed doggy Xanax, but has to be given a half hour before the storm.  Also I used static guard spray for the carpets and static dryer sheets in the bedding.  Leave loud TV or radio on to drown the sound.  Researched also there is a static garment like a doggie vest that negates the positive ions in the air created by lightning.  Supposedly the static gets to the dogs fur and makes them nervous, then the thunder adds to the terror.  Good Luck.
