Okay. I would love to get a cat. I have a rather small apartment, but hopefully I'd be moving out in a year or two. I spent the last few days trying to determine which cat breed would be the best choice, and I am even more confused than before. I have always had cats, but they were ordinary cats picked up from containers, cleaned and fed. But now I'd like to have a breed.
So. I'm looking for the love of my life. Long-semi long hair, intelligent, lap cat. Someone who can listen to me while I study aloud all day long, meow here and there agreeing with me, and demanding attention. He would be alone about 3-5 hours every day. Sometimes maybe 7. He wouldn't be allowed outside, since sadly, there is no outside here. He would get all the love I have.
At one point I loved the idea of getting a Norwegian forest cat, but then I realized how huge they can get, and decided to hold that thought for a while. On my chosen list are also: Turkish Angora and Van, Korat, Birman, Ragdoll, Russian Blue and Chartreux. Yes, I understand that not all of them have the length of hair I'd prefer, and some of them don't score the highest on intelligence.
What do you think would be the best option? Maybe another breed I didn't take under consideration? Thank you a lot.
