Feline herpesvirus, also known as feline viral rhinotracheitis (FVR) and feline influenza, is a viral upper respiratory disease that causes flu like symptoms and secondary infections in cats. This highly contagious disease can cause life threatening symptoms which are particularly dangerous to kittens.
